Craft-forward Couture with Rewild ‘26

a harmony of couture

Rewild '26 is a harmony of couture, craft, conservation, and culture—a coming together of silhouettes that find a place in global style, but carry the soul of India's heartland. We've reimagined classic crafts, some of them our signature techniques, into contemporary silhouettes that match the vision of the modern woman. They embody the spirit of someone who thoughtfully adds her aesthetic and modernistic views to her wardrobe, creating a personal narrative that honors heritage while embracing the present.

Couture that is led by craft is what makes Rewild, our Fashion for Good initiative relevant to those committed to preserving and protecting wildlife. Fashion can be a force for good, and Rewild is our step towards preserving the beautiful planet we all inhabit. Inspired by the forests of India, this collection brings to life diverse ecosystems through lush trees, tropical birds, and spectacular wildlife. Every detail is a tribute to nature's poetry and the knowledge passed through generations that preserve crafts, symbolizing a celebration of harmonious co-existence and conservation.

Balancing creativity with responsibility and scale with purpose, Rewild '26 was co-hosted by the Maharani of Baroda, Radhikaraje Gaekwad. Set against the grandeur of Luksmi Vilas Palace in Gujarat, the event unfolded within one of India's most magnificent royal residences where history breathes. Built in 1890, the palace exemplifies Indo-Saracenic architecture with its soaring domes, intricate courtyards, and sprawling grounds, home to ancient trees and wildlife that have coexisted with royalty for over a century. The palace itself became a co-narrator of Rewild's story, where grandeur and nature flourish together. The event became a testament to what happens when heritage meets intention, where palatial architecture provided the backdrop for a conversation about protecting the wild spaces that inspire us. All proceeds raised go towards our impact partners: Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF), Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT), Green Tuesday Initiative, Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO), and Friendicoes SECA to amplify peaceful co-existence alongside nature and its inhabitants.

Macramé: Roots Reimagined

Macramé: Roots Reimagined

Inspired by the interconnected networks of ancient roots, our macramé designs are a testament to slow, conscious craft. Individual threads, knotted by hand by our in-house artisans, come together to create strength and structural elegance.

"When I first introduced macramé into the Rewild collection, I was thinking about its journey," Anita Dongre reflects. "A craft that likely travelled the Silk Route centuries ago, and somewhere along the way, Indian hands adopted it and made it their own. That felt very true to what I wanted Rewild to be: a journey in slow, conscious craft."

This is not embellishment. It is architecture, the foundation that gives a gown its structure, a skirt set its sculptural weight. "When you watch the artisans knot, the loop, the pull, the repetition, it's almost meditative. There's a rhythm to it that I find completely absorbing," she observes.

Each knot translates nature's unruly forms into distinct, awe-inspiring patterns. "Every knot you see is an intentional decision made by hand," Dongre notes. "A complex math that yields a simple, beautiful outcome."

This is craft that requires patience, precision, and understanding that beauty emerges from complexity, and hands that honor the process.

Embossed Embroidery: Forest Panoramas

A panoramic view of verdant forests is expressed through our graceful silhouettes dappled with embossed embroidery. Seasonal rhythms of nature narrate their stories through leaves and blooms rendered in raised threadwork that creates depth and dimension. Abstract motifs bring the wild forest to life: ferns unfurling, canopies overlapping, wildlife hiding in plain sight. The embossing technique adds tactile richness, transforming fabric into landscapes you can almost walk through. This is embroidery that rises to meet the eye, creating shadow and light that shifts as the wearer moves.

Benarasi: Generational Legacy

Handwoven by master artisans in Benaras, this centuries-old craft has lived through generations, carrying with it the legacy of practice, perseverance, and preservation. The looms of Benaras have dressed royalty, adorned brides, and now find new expression in Rewild. We've taken this timeless craft and reimagined it in silhouettes that sing to the heart of today's woman in flowing gowns & structured ensembles that honor the weave's heritage while serving modern life. Each Benarasi piece in this collection required weeks on the loom, carrying memories in every thread.

Appliqué: Dimensional Storytelling

Fabric on fabric takes new life with appliqué. Shapes are carefully cut and thoughtfully placed to create lifelike effects: a visual treat that achieves an almost three-dimensional presence. Leaves appear to flutter, birds seem ready for flight. This technique allows us to build forests layer by layer, creating garments where wildlife peeks from behind foliage, where sunlight filters through fabric canopies. The appliqué work in Rewild '26 goes beyond decoration; it becomes narrative sculpture, telling stories of ecosystems where every element depends on another for survival.

What unites these diverse techniques is intention. Each craft beautifying our Rewild '26 collection serves a dual purpose: celebrating India's artisanal heritage while presenting it to contemporary eyes with elevated grace. Where craft meets context, poetry emerges—the hands that create these garments and the organizations protecting wildlife become partners in the same symphony of preservation. Together, they safeguard what makes our world beautiful, whether that's a centuries-old weaving tradition or a protected species thriving in the wild.

This is couture with consequence, craft with conviction—expressive fashion that understands its power and responsibility, rendered in an intentionally restrained use of color that lets craftsmanship speak.
