Weaving the Threads of Co-existence, a Collective Movement for Animal Welfare
AN INITIATIVE BY THE ANITA DONGRE FOUNDATION & GIVINGPI
As the divide between humans and nature deepens, and compassion is overshadowed by unchecked growth, the Rewild Pledge is a step toward more conscious, collaborative giving in a fragmented world. It's not just a campaign, but
A collective, cause-led movement offering donors clarity, community, and meaningful pathways to protect animals, people, and ecosystems.
The pledge is an invitation to philanthropists, foundations, and CSR leaders to extend their voice and support to a carefully curated portfolio of organisations across the diverse landscape of animal welfare and conservation, highlighting its many nuances and creating meaningful impact. The Rewild portfolio is anchored in three pillars -
Conservation, Community and Culture
In 2023, Rewild by the Anita Dongre Foundation was a confluence of fashion, philanthropy and animal welfare to mobilize support for elephant protection. It supported human-elephant coexistence work anchored by Nature Conservation Foundation in South India and brought influential voices together to let conservation walk hand in hand with fashion under the theme ‘Fashion for Good’.
From that single, successful event, a larger mission was born. Today, the Rewild Pledge is a philanthropic movement mobilizing support towards the diverse sub sectors of animal welfare in India - extending efforts to address the broader landscape of coexistence, care and conservation.
Across India, animal welfare and conservation gaps are wide and inconsistent
Most resources flow to urban hubs and flagship parks. Meanwhile, high-dependence regions like tribal belts, the Northeast, and coastal zones struggle with poor infrastructure, limited vet access, and low funding.
Deep care systems exist predominantly for pet animals and flagship wildlife species. Farmed, working, and certain community animals remain largely invisible in policy and philanthropy.
The animal welfare sector is slowly moving forward through collective action, yet its complexity calls for more voices and hands to come together in shared platforms of change.
The Rewild Pledge stands on three pillars representing the diverse landscape of animal welfare, conservation and its many intersections. It is an invitation to extend support to a carefully curated portfolio of organisations.

From the snow-clad Himalayas to the coral reefs of the Andamans, NCF’s efforts combine research, local wisdom, and education to ensure people and nature thrive together.
The Green Tuesday Initiative is a global movement helping institutions adopt sustainable food practices to create a healthier planet.
By working with schools, universities, and corporates, it promotes plant-forward meals and reduces the environmental impact of food choices — addressing climate change, animal welfare, and public health in one powerful shift.
Established in 2009, the Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) works relentlessly to protect India’s forests and wildlife while enabling coexistence between people and nature.
With a footprint across 160+ national parks, sanctuaries, and tiger reserves, WCT bridges the gap between conservation science and community well-being, ensuring that those living closest to forests become their strongest allies.
